Bean Books is a small fiction bookstore at 122 Germain Street in uptown Saint John, New Brunswick. We have comfy chairs, urban art, free wireless, and the best of Canadian and international lit.
Due to the increased demand for painting commissions, our new fall hours are Tues-Fri: 12-4; Sat 10-4; and Sun-Mon: closed.
This blog is written by the owner, Sarah Jones (me!), about my bookstore misadventures, odd things I find in the bookstore basement, and things I wish they taught me in grad school.
This page has the following sub pages.
I found it. Took awhile.
Crackfilling is so much fun, why have you waited so long to learn?? In the States we call it mudding, in Maine that’s pronounced muddin. I am so excited for you to be starting your own business, best of luck and I’ll be in for coffee and a good book.
Haha thanks Becca. Yeah, I’ve been doing some serious muddin for the past couple weeks. On to the painting now.
GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!! I will be stopping by!
Congrats on the opening. Glad we were able to stop in and see you.
Hi Sarah,
I noticed on your business card that you had a blog and I have one, too. I’ve said a few words about Bean Books there- which is actually appropriate since my blog is all books all the time!
I look forward to visiting your store again soon!

Hi Sarah,
My daughter Emily and I were talking about how much we can’t wait to come back to Saint John next Summer. One of our stops will certainly be your bookshop.
Have a wonderful Fall and Winter,
Chris
