Surprise Sale No. 2

Although it’s not really a surprise anymore…

1.The sun is back. And I’ve stopped complaining about the weather.

2. I have a bunch of new paintings on the wall.

3. And I have happily ditched the book I was reading in favour of something better (feel free to ask me anytime about my Ondaatje rant. It’s brilliant.).

First Day

Bean Books OpeningThings I learned on opening day:

1. People like music. Hundreds of people came out for the street concert on Germain, which lasted all afternoon and into the early evening.

2. People like books. Thanks to everyone for coming in and supporting my business!

3. Boiling water is really hot.

4. It’s easy to blow a fuse with a coffee machine and a kettle.

5. Saint John is pretty much the coolest place on earth, full of people who love books, art and dark roast coffee, and who turn up for a street concert on a Saturday afternoon.  I wouldn’t want to open a business anywhere else but here.
